C-Section Scar Release

Are you worried about your C-Section Scar?

A C-section is major surgery and for some mums, they can experience ongoing issues related to scaring. Here are some of the concerns expressed by mums:

• Numb or tingling sensations on the scar.

• Irritation from clothing over the scar area.

• The scar feels raised, uneven or is keloid.

• Feeling self-conscious about the scar.

• Feeling unable to look at the scar.

• Digestive complaints, since the C-section.

• Ongoing back pain or hip pain.

• Restricted movement at the trunk and hips.

• Feeling tightness at the scar site, when moving the hips, trunk or lifting your arms.

The scar won’t disappear, but scar release can make improvements to the sensation, texture, discomfort, tightness and often the appearance of scar tissue. MSTR Scar Tissue Release will be applied directly around the C-section site and Myofascial Release Therapy is used to address internal scar tissue, adhesions, persistent discomfort and movement restrictions in the hips and torso. To help your recovery you will also be advised on yoga based movement and self myofascial release techniques, as appropriate. All techniques I use are gentle, with scar release technique literally applied with movement of a single finger.  You can book in a minimum of 8 weeks post C-section and there is no time limit, your scar can be 10 years old plus.

An initial consultation and 1st treatment - $110 (approx. 1hr)

Follow up session range from $40 to $95

A minimum of 4 follow ups is recommended.

Myofascial Release for Postnatal Aches and Pains

The gentle approach is always best, so let's get you moving well and address those persistent aches and pains. Myofascial Release Therapy is a gentle hands on therapy similar to massage, applying sustained pressure to release tension and create space within the fascia (connective tissue). Fantastic for when you feel like a really good stretch, but just can’t get the relief you crave. The technique helps ease discomfort and restore movement.

MRT can also be effective in managing persistent and chronic pain, caused by postural habits, stress or health conditions, such as migraines, Fibromyalgia, TMJ (jaw dysfunction), Endometriosis, Carpal Tunnel.  If you have had the issue for a long time I recommend investing in a minimum 3-4 sessions, so that we can assess how your body is responding.

Initial consultation - $110 (allow up to 1 hr, 10m)

Follow up session range from $75 to $95

You can also add on a 15 min guided relaxation session or for the seriously sleep deprived a 40min Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation, also known as yogic sleep).
