Scar Release Therapy

Are you unhappy with your scar?

Does your scar feel tight?

Does your scar pull and stop you form moving freely?

Does your scar feel numb or just weird to touch?

Is your scar lumpy and uneven?

Does your scar catch on clothing?

Do you feel embarrassed by your scar and want to hide it?

Have you noticed back pain or stomach pain, after abdominal surgery?

Whatever your reason, Mcloughin Scar tissue Release is worth considering. It won’t remove your scar, but can make it easier to live with. This technique uses finger tip movement to gently release tight scar tissue. It can help to soften the scar, free restricted movement, restore sensation, improve blood and lymph flow and often improves the appearance of scars. It doesn’t hurt and can make a significant difference after 3 or 4 sessions. Kathy can also combine scar tissue release, with Myofascial Release Therapy and advise on posture and yoga inspired stretches to give you the best outcome.

The scar tissue can be worked on 8 weeks post injury or surgery, providing the healing process has been uneventful. No scar is too old to be worked on. It doesn’t matter whether your scar was the result of injury or surgery. Any size of scaring can be worked on from small mole removal areas to complex surgical sites, such as C-sections, mastectomy, hysterectomy and orthopedic procedures. This technique can also be useful for helping conditions such as, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Plantar Fasciitis.

Due to the emotional aspects of working with scars and possible trauma related to scaring, we will always approach sessions with sensitivity and proceed at your pace.
