About
“Happy fascia, happy lymph, happy life”.
Kathy is a self-confessed fascia geek, always eager to expand her knowledge about this fascinating part of our anatomy. With a career in health and rehabilitation spanning over 25 years, she possesses a solid foundation in Occupational Therapy, where she specialised in neurorehabilitation and Occupational Health and Safety consultancy, working within both industry and healthcare settings.
In 2010, Kathy became a certified yoga instructor with Auckland-based Ashram Yoga, further fueling her passion for both her personal practice and teaching. Following the birth of her twins, Kathy focused on establishing a business that worked around her time with her daughters and nurtured her interests. She developed a strong desire to explore therapeutic techniques for managing chronic pain, a challenge she has personally faced after developing chronic pelvic pain related to Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. This journey led her to focus on fascia.
Her current practice focuses on myofascial release therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, and McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release. Additionally, Kathy serves as a McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release instructor and mentor for New Zealand. She is committed to continuous learning and seeking out 'gentle' yet highly effective methods to address persistent pain and movement limitations.
Her approach steps beyond the clinic, providing education and coaching services to support clients through yoga-based practices, self-care techniques, and making lifestyle changes.
